Lately Marlow has been super congested, and I can’t figure out if it’s allergies or just the insanely dry Phoenix air. I’m having the exact same problem, so I think it’s a combination of both. Anyway, I decided it was finally time to get a humidifier for her room. I was getting desperate because she hadn’t been sleeping well, and I think a lot of it is from not being able to breathe very well.
I did some research (i.e. read through hundreds of Amazon reviews), and decided on the TomCare Square Oil Diffuser and Humidifier. I liked it because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money (it costs $30.99), I wanted something fairly small (her room is TINY) that wouldn’t leave her room feeling like a rainforest, and I wanted something that I could leave out that looked chic. I know. Not all the best reasons when it comes to buying something regarding my child’s breathing… but based on reviews, it works great as a humidifier, it’s easy to clean, and people generally like it. Good enough for me.
So far I have been pleasantly surprised. It is pretty darn sleek for a humidifier. The cube looks great on her dresser, it works all night without needing to refill it, and I see her congestion improving slowly. It does have a timer function, which is nice, but I have literally been running the thing since we got it. It hasn’t shut off or failed once and puts off a nice cool mist that is whisper quiet and won’t keep her awake at night. It has a nightlight function that I don’t use, but it is nice to have as an option. It also doubles as an essential oil diffuser, but I haven’t used that function either. Basically, it works great as a humidifier, looks great, and I think I might buy one for every room in my house. So, if you’re in the market, I do recommend it as a small room humidifier. I’ll keep you updated on how it holds up, and whether or not I try it out as an oil diffuser.
